As someone who had a lot of anxiety when I was younger, and now working with people on their anxiety as a therapist, I can totally relate to this.
In my experience, a lot of anxiety (regardless of the particular diagnoses) boils down to anxiety about anxiety. So I think for us parents, the last thing we want to do if we experience anxiety is to try and hide it. This only models for our kids that they need to be ashamed of feeling afraid.
