Sam, a tad harsh but you make some good points.
- Corrected the alarm clock and insofar points.
- You’re right, I was doing CBT (I’m a CBT therapist) but I didn’t think the term itself was pertinent to the article (and sometimes therapy jargon can be a turn off to readers…)
- I admit that the brain thinking thing is an anthropomorphism to some extent, but the brain truly does operate and “learn” independently of our conscious awareness and effort much of the time so I’m not sure it’s to far off.
- I agree that “grow and move forward” could be a sort of empty platitude on its own, but I used it here as a way to wrap up a lot of the more specific points I mentioned earlier in the list of places to start looking for habits.
Anyway, I really do appreciate the feedback.
