Really nice, clear post John. You’ve also got me really intrigued by this word, “tendency.” Strikes me on first blush that it gets at something important psychologically that we all tend to miss: Rarely do we act in a completely deliberate or completely automatic way. Usually it’s some shade of grey in between. Tendency seems like a good non-jargony term for this. Gonna have to use it more in my own writing. cheers!
