It’s a great point, Christopher. The pattern of being able to be assertive at work but passive or passive-aggressive with family or in other more social settings is an especially common pattern.

Could be all sorts of reasons, although one that I see a lot is that at work our skill or ability in a particular domain gives us confidence to be who we are and express ourselves. Whereas when we’re in purely social situations we don’t have that extra confidence boost.
